Blast Attack III is a shoot'em up videogame created by blak, developed with his own "company" Plosion Games, and entirely made with Game Maker 7. It is the third game of The Blast Attack Series, a direct sequel to Blast Attack II. It is often regarded as the best and most successful game of the series, although it is not the most downloaded. It featured elements from both of its prequels, including the Map Screen (orginally from Blast Attack) and the Power Ups (from Blast Attack II) and, obviously, the Diamonds. Built-in Game Maker effects (explosions, smoke, fire etc.) introduced in its prequel were re-used, but met some serious mixed reactions.

Developement
With Blast Attack III, blak wanted to do something (relatively) big for his stantards. The third chapter of a series must be good, just like Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) is often considered the best Mario adventure. Blak once again started the developement creating some of Paint-based graphics, this time paying more attention to details. Some sprites for the new Ice Zone were directly taken from Blast Attack II, since he thought that they looked good enough. New backgrounds were created, with some additional details. Sounds and BGMs were carefully choosen. Much like its prequel, the game had a score controller. However, Blast Attack III's major change was in the Map Screen, which literally became a Level Selection Screen a la Megaman, where bosses can be defeated without following some particular order. Blak made the game easier but, at the same time, he added Lifes. In fact, Blast Attack III is the first game in the series to have a Game Over screen. Further sequels, such as Mutatio or the upcoming Blast Attack V, also have Lifes.
Plot
The plot is always the same: the Corpulons have stolen once again the Quasar Diamonds and the Jake Storm must save the Universe once again before the evil aliens use their powers to take over everything.
Gameplay
Blast Attack III's biggest change is that the player can now play levels without following some particular order. Levels are actually Worlds (some of them are remakes of older one that appeared in the prequels), each with a boss and a diamond. Getting all the diamond is now generally easier, since if the player, after defeating a boss, fails to get the diamond, he will be taken to the Map Screen and the level where he missed the diamond may be replayed once again. The game features once again a score controller, and the player's laser become more powerful as the score increase. New Power Ups are the red one (a FireBall) and a light blue one (Multiple Shot). For the first time in the series, the game ends when the player loses all of his lifes.
Worlds
The game features 7 Worlds, each with only one level and a boss fight. The 7th World is the final level (with its own final boss), and can only be unlocked when the player gets all the diamonds.
There's also a secret world, a Mario World Zone.
Reception
On YoYoGames, the game currently has been rated by 10 members with a score of 3.3/5 and it was downloaded / played 144 times (as of October 18, 2008). It was reviewed by one user: GameUgames, who gave it the perfect score of 6/6.
