Skeltar is a fictional character created by blak that currently serves as the main antagonist of The Blast Attack Series since the fifth chapter. It is the first 'real' villain that the player fight in the series, and it is scheduled to return in future sequels.
Skeltar is A.J. Storm's enemy, and the leader of an evil robot-like species who often uses other alien races to reach their goal. Skeltar's usual plot is to use the Quasar Diamonds, six mysterious and dangerous artefacts with enormous powers.
Characteristics
Skeltar is an highly intelligent robot which, for some (currently) unknown reasons, wants to take over / destroy the Universe. His first appearance was in Blast Attack V, where he used the Quasar Diamonds to put the Trykons under a mind controll-spell in order to succeed in his evil schemes. Like other bosses of that game, Skeltar's phrase was "I want my Diamonds back!", obviously referring to the Quasar Diamonds that the player menaged to get back during his quest. He is shown to be destroyed during the ending sequence, but the ending itself also reveals that he has actually survived.
Despite being an important character, Skeltar's appearance during the game is not currently very different or "distinctive" as it seems in official pictures such as the one in this article. His design is scheduled to change in future games of the series. Like other bosses that the player fought in Blast Attack V, Skeltar is voiced by Windows XP's default voice Microsoft Sam, with some "robotic effects" to make the voice "darker".
His spaceship-like appearance, color scheme and design is slightly similar to Zaneth's, Blast Attack III's villain, whose name was revelead in the fifth game. Their plots are also almost identical. In fact, Skeltar is probably somewhat related to Zaneth, or could belong to the same species. Another theory is that Zaneth may be actually a prototype of Skeltar or viceversa.
Appearances
Skeltar's first appearance was in Blast Attack V as the main villain who used the Quasar Diamonds to put the Trykons under a mind controll-spell and take over the Unvierse. In that game, Skeltar also serves as the final boss; however, Skeltar himself tries to defeat the player earlier in the game, appearing as the second mission's boss of Futuria, even with a different boss theme. When defeated, he explodes, but has obviously survived since he returns a bit later in the game in the final level (Fortress). Skeltar is however ultimately defeated as he tried to get back the green Quasar Diamond, the Green Hornet, the one that was going to use to destroy the Universe. When defeated, his fortress is destroyed, presumably killing him. The ending sequence, however, reveals the he has survived.
In fact, Skeltar has returned as main villain in Blast Attack VI. In that game he wanted to use the Diamonds to summon the original creator of those artifacts, Omnia, in order to get God-like powers. A.J. Storm eventually defeated him but, according to the ending, he has once again survived to the final battle and he will come back very soon.
Skeltar will probably become the main villain of the series after the events of Blast Attack V, and it is in fact scheduled to return in later sequels, serving once again as villain and possibily as a final boss. However, the Green Hornet is probably not going to return.
